Meicheng English College in Yangshuo provided me a great experience for my travels and gave me the opportunity to see all the sites Yangshuo has to offer, while also enabling me to get to know the Chinese culture and lifestyle better. The staff is very supportive and the students are eager to learn. The unique design of the cultural exchange enables students to gain practical English practice, while volunteers also can gain an inside look at Chinese culture. Tucked away in a quiet corner of town, it was the perfect spot to rest for a bit and to get to know the great staff and students at the school. Volunteering here is a great option for travelers who have the time to teach some English in exchange for free room and food. Additionally, the close connection made with the local staff opened many opportunities to see more than the average traveler. I would definitely recommend volunteers to check out this place!
